Lavender and lenses

lavender field, SauzetLavender field near Salles sous BoisI had a great time in early June trying out a new lens,10-24mm nikkor, for my Nikon on these lavender fields in France. All of my shots were taken a bit too early in the season for the flower heads to be as intense as I would have liked. But as they say, beggars can’t be choosers, and I hope that these images are just as enjoyable.

American Apple Cake

American Apple Cake

Decided to use up some of the glut of apples we have at the moment, used a friends juicer and then made this yummy cake.
12oz caster sugar, 4oz soft butter, 1 egg & tsp vanilla extract; cream all together
then add 8oz plain yogurt, 16oz plain flour with 1tsp of baking powder and 1tsp of cinnamon;
lastly add finely chopped apple, put into buttered and lined 12″ tin sprinkle with demerara sugar and bake for 1hr at 180C, leave in tin to cool before turning out – Enjoy!
